The call for papers for the 16th International Farming Systems Association Conference (IFSA-Europe group) is now open: https://ifsa2026.sciencesconf.org
IFSA 2026 will take place in Montpellier-France, and is organised by the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Montpellier (CIHEAM-IAMM) from 29 June to 3 July 2026.
Under the overarching theme “Farming and Agri-Food Systems Dynamics: Facing Crises and Trade-Offs in Transition Pathways”, the conference will revisit current progress and debates in co-designing and advancing sustainable farming systems, with particular attention to how they confront crises, inform decisions across scales, and navigate the trade-offs and synergies shaping transition pathways and their impacts.
Paper submissions for the IFSA 2026 conference are organised around four main themes:
Theme 1: Transformative changes
Theme 2: Landscape and communities
Theme 3: Capacity development to support systemic change
Theme 4: Food Production, Consumption, Food Landscape & WEFE Nexus
